Gloomy Weekend in Taiwan

Taiwan feels like a mix of Japan, China, and what I can only describe—based on my limited knowledge—as socialist architecture. Most buildings look sterile, bland, flat, and very, very similar… yet somehow, it all comes together in a way that’s oddly fascinating.

I didn’t have much time to explore the city, so I made the most of what I had. Hitting the tourist spots, temples, and different districts, I got to see Taipei from a few different angles. Walking its streets, I watched people from all walks of life—some deeply rooted in their faith, some caught up in their work, and many just like me, wide-eyed visitors taking in a city that wasn’t theirs but felt worth knowing.
