Between 2016 and 2017, I had the chance to live in France—an opportunity I wasn’t about to pass up. I had dreamed of it for years, and when the moment came, I jumped in headfirst. Looking back, those 147 days turned out to be some of the most intense, eye-opening, and rewarding months of my life.

Living abroad isn’t all postcard moments and smooth sailing. There were challenges—navigating a different culture, adapting to a new way of life, and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. But that’s exactly what made it worth it. And through all of it, one thing kept pulling me in deeper: photography.

Discovering Street Photography in France

I’ve always been drawn to photography, but before this experience, I wouldn’t have called myself a street photographer. That changed fast. The raw energy of French cities, the character in people’s faces, the way light hit the old stone streets—it was impossible to ignore.

At first, I just wandered, camera in hand, shooting whatever felt right. But over time, I sharpened my focus. I studied the legends of street photography, took inspiration from their work, and developed my own approach. Every frame became a way to tell a story—no filters, no posing, just real life as it happened.

The Grind of Building This Book

Putting together this book wasn’t just about throwing my favorite shots into a collection. It was a grind—sifting through thousands of images, making tough calls, and staying disciplined about what made the cut. I was tempted to sneak in some landscapes and cityscapes, but that wasn’t the mission. This book is about the streets, the people, and the small, unscripted moments that make life interesting.
